If My Memory Serves Me

This series has been an ongoing project with two complete iterations displayed below. With the support of two different residencies, 2020, 2023, at Penland School of Craft is Western North Carolina, I was able to create these forged and enameled pieces. With inspiration from the Kohler Factory and many iterations of various utensils and kitchenware these sculptural object were shaped and manipulated with much force, each from one piece of steel. I hope to connect the viewer to these larger than life forms by recognizing the almost utilitarian use but then the question of why and what the use may be.
